Peanut Brittle
Peanut Brittle
A classic homely treat with the perfect balance of salty-sweet!
Preparation Time 10 minutes
Cooking Time 35 minutes
Total Time 45 minutes
Sugar x 2 Cups
Water x 1 Cup
Salted Peanuts x 1.5 Cups
Unsalted Butter, Softened x 1 tbsp
Prepare a baking sheet with butter and place in a baking tray, set aside.
Combine sugar and water in a pan. Cook at a high heat without stirring. After around 3 minutes, when the sugar begins to turn golden, tilt the pan slowly so the sugar melts evenly. Do not stir as this can cause sugar to crystallise.
Take pan off the heat and add in the salted peanuts. Quickly spread mixture on to the baking sheet lined tray from earlier. You want the mixture to be around 1/2 inch thick.
Leave to cool completely, which should take around 30 minutes, then break into pieces.
