Whether you are celebrating Shrove Tuesday or have a hankering for something sweet for breakfast, we have the recipe that makes 12 delicious fluffy pancakes.
Preparation Time 10 minutes
Cooking Time 20 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes
Self Raising Flour x 625 g
Sugar x 5 tbsp
Baking Powder x 2 Heaped tsp
Medium Eggs x 3
Syrup x 6 tbsp
Milk x 600 ml
Butter x 1 tsp
Cooking Oil x 1 tsp
Add together Self Raising Flour, Sugar and Baking Powder in a large mixing bowl
Make a well in the centre of mix and crack two eggs and syrup into the centre
Whisk together, gradually adding the milk until you have a thick batter
Heat a small knob of butter and 1 tsp of oil in a large, non-stick frying pan over a medium heat until the butter looks frothy
Depending on your preference pour either half a ladle or a full ladle of batter in to the pan
Cook the pancakes on one side for about 1-2 mins or until lots of tiny bubbles start to appear and pop on the surface. Flip the pancakes over and cook for a further minute on the other side. Repeat until all the batter is used up.
