Cracknel

 

Cracknel / Cracknell is a favourite at The Mains of Drum. It is delicious and easy to make—the ideal treat for a picnic, lunchbox, or even a traybake for hosting. It can be made in one bowl!

Serves 8 | Preparation Time 3 minutes | Cooking Time 5 minutes | Total Time 8 minutes 


Ingredients

1 Box ( Approx 17.6 oz ) Cornflakes
13.2 oz Margarine
14 oz Syrup
10 oz Dried Milk Powder
4 oz Coconut
 2 oz Drinking Chocolate
1.5 handfuls Sultanas

 


 

Method


  1. Melt the margarine and syrup in a pan together. DO NOT BOIL
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the dried milk, coconut, drinking chocolate and sultanas
  3. When the margarine mix has melted, add to the dry mix
  4. Once mixed, add the cornflakes and mix again for 2-3 mins
  5. Line a large tin with parchment paper and fill with the mix
  6. Leave to set and enjoy!
