Heather McCombie, Susan Robertson and Hannah Gilbert would like to express their thanks to everyone who has supported them along the journey of their charitable activities. From donations to practice walks and getting help across the finish line, they are all very grateful of every bit of support given to them along the way.

Susan and Hannah had been building up their miles on the run up to the Aberdeen Kiltwalk 2017. Each had a set target they were wanting to reach in donations and in miles!

Hannah set out for the 16 mile Drumoak to Potarch stretch, known as “The Big Stroll”.

Susan set foot on “The Mighty Stride”, a 26 mile walk from Duthie Park to Culter.

Heather had ventured further afield for her charitable activity by taking part in the Edinburgh Moonwalk, managing 26.2 miles overnight.

All the ladies have smashed their targets with Hannah raising £398 + Gift Aid (Cancer Research UK) and Susan reaching £383.26  40% extra added from the Hunter Foundation  £70 Gift Aid + (Aberdeen Maternity Hospital’s Neo-Natal Unit). Heather has raised an outstanding total of £1757.11! The amount raised from Heather will go to Breast Cancer Research.

Heather would like to express, “a huge thank you to The Mains of Drum and everyone who so kindly donated to breast cancer research, your generosity has meant so much to me”.

These kind donations have been generously given from their families, friends and even our customers and company reps!

It looks as though they all had a smashing time at both events and are thrilled with their achievements and the amounts raised which will be going to great causes.

Congratulations from us here at The Mains of Drum and thanks once again on behalf of Hannah, Susan and Heather for everyone’s kind donations and words of support throughout the whole run up to, and after, the events.
